Woke late since i watched the Opals take on the US. That was crap, Jackson was shut-down. But can't dispute the talent on that team so yeah, that's more of a "Dream Team" than the men's team. Oh yeah, I really hate it when people call this year's USA men's basketball team the "Dream Team". They're not a "Dream Team".
Alright, just to give you a history lesson, but i'm sure most of you will ignore this so meh. In 1989, FIBA announced that Olympic basketball were open to all kinds of competition. Before this, NBA players were not allowed to compete in Olympic basketball competitions. This rule is known as the "Open Competition" policy. So after this policy was announced, NBA players were allowed to enter into Olympic competitions. The reason why everyone called the 1992 USA men's basketball team the "Dream Team" was because that team consisted of a collection of the best players possible from all over the USA. It just so happened that all of them played in the NBA. But what kills me is that every single team after that, the media still calls the USA men's basketball team the "Dream Team". 1996 and 2000 were close to the "Dream Team" status, but weren't there, and hence shouldn't be coined "Dream Team" teams. The 2004 team is a collection of players who aren't injured and who are willing to play for the USA and DEFINITELY not the best team possible. So that's the reason why they screwed up - they're a make-up team. This is THE "Dream Team" that were the best players possible back in those days.
Anyway, sorry for going off the topic and stuff, but yeah since i was totally stuffed, i woke up late and missed service. So i went to church late and didn't get to do what i wanted to do for the committee stuff so grrr, but yeah that happens all the time so i don't mind THAT much right now. But yeah we had to teach and stuff, but before that we usually do some singing and all. This week, there were a few of us who were late and all and the co-ordinator of the whole thing made us go up and sing in front of the kids. I mean yeah sure we know her and stuff and we know that she could have made it hell for us, but she spared us by only singing and bowing when the word "Majesty" was sung. So that wasn't TOO bad, but yeah still aiiii...
Then after our humiliation, we went off to class and all and taught them stuff. We had to fly through stuff since we tried to catch-up about 2 lessons in 1 day. Not good. But i'm disappointed that the kids didn't get the verse this week. Alright i know that the people who i gave the harder one to was testing their limits, but yeah they didn't get much of it. But the normal 1 is like 3 words. For a year 1 class sure it doesn't sound much, but i'm baffled why some of them still can't get that down. So hopefully these 3 words will be better. Some kids i'm still pushing and seeing if they can remember more of it and stuff so yeah i'm trying to test their limits again, but not as long as last time. So we'll see about how it goes next week.
When i finally got home after parents shopping (damn i need to learn how to drive again...) called Aron but he wasn't home. Called Jim Yang and he wasn't home either. To cap things off, Lucy wasn't home either so yeah not good. But finally May was bored out of her mind and when i called she was actually glad. So talked with her about some stuff of ours and what i've been doing and all. Pretty good to catch up with her again, even though it hasn't been THAT long. After, made calls on a more business related purpose and yeah nothing too much after that. Trying to figure out some Stat stuff right now so yeah nothing too much.
Qma's back tomorrow, and so's uni. So not good but yeah what can you do? I'm close enough anyway, and i gotta start thinking about a partial lock-down again since i am close to finals. But yeah we'll see how things go.
I can definitely say that there will be a few things that will happen soon. Everything is a prelim right now since i'm trying to juggle stuff, but i can say that some events that will be held will be good, well it SHOULD be good. Also, made a pretty big decision about what i'm doing too. It definitely will affect what happens next year so yeah i'm hoping i made the right decision. Doesn't mean i can't change it though...
