Sleepless...

The reason for the title was because i had to stay up for 41 hours straight without sleep at all. I'm impressed with myself so yeah that's good. I'll explain why i've needed to be up for this long without sleep. Yeah i know i'm kinda crazy, since i've decided to blog instead of sleep. But yeah i've recovered from that now, well i think i have so yeah that's ok i guess.

Tuesday

Well i know that the etiquette lecturer is like bad when it comes to doing stupid things such as stopping the lecture to tell off people, and to give us an etiquette lesson as well and stuff like that, but this could be one of the things that could rate as absolute stupidity. Usually, you expect the last week of lectures to be like a revision week yeah? Well we do normally, but thing is with micro that guy isn't going to have a review lecture, so it's pretty stupid. What's worse is that instead of telling us what will be examined, he tells us that the whole textbook could be in the exam...but we haven't done absolutely everything from the book though. It's like some concepts are purposely left out because of the difficultly that it involves. It's like some of the concepts are suppose to be for second year students so yeah we don't need to know about them in our course.

So yeah he wants to confuse us by giving us false info. Great. Not only that, but the final exam is something like 45 multiple choice questions, 2 short answer questions and 4 essays out of a possible 11 choices and they expect at least 1 1/2 pages per essay. I'm not too sure if the essays are just writing at least 1 1/2 pages or diagram + writing = at least 1 1/2 pages. Either way, it's pretty damn bad. So i really need to do work on that.

After, had lunch and then went to tute where Monica and i talked like hell as usual. I mean yeah it's good that we do talk and that we do get to know each other, just that yeah we're supposed to be learning and i know it's wrong, but yeah it's like when you first get to know a person, you just want to keep talking to that person to get to know them alot better. I'm sure Vani, Michelle, Jess and Katrina, just to mention a few, knows what i'm on about. Speaking of Kat, for everyone who knows about what's going on with her and what's going on, it's still going ahead as planned, of course i can't make since it is WAY too close to my finals so yeah not good. But everything that's happened of late WILL NOT affect anything planned as such. Just don't bring it up and she's alright, she's pretty fragile atm. I think fragile is a bit too strong of a word to use for her current state. She's pretty cut so yeah stay clear of that.

So after that, came home, and was going to finish off my practice set. For those who don't do commerce or just don't know what it is, a practice set is where you're given a business and you have to find all the transactions done by this business and then write them down manually and do all the accounting stuff manually. It's not hard, but it's so tedious it takes so much time. Dave took over 22 hours for his practice set, so yeah that's pretty damn long. So i was finding my practice set, and then when i started going through it, it had Thanda's writing in it. What happened was that her and i were comparing what we did and just copied off each other. Thing is we didn't look at the inside cover of the book, where i had my name written in, but hers didn't have anything, so yeah we took the other person's book home.

Due to that, we had to erase everything that was in the books and start from scratch. I was thinking about going over to her place to get my book back, but when i called her, she was already erasing my stuff, so yeah no point then. She did some stuff in pen as well, so i had to go through a whole white-out process as well, and it used like 2/3rds of my tape in the process. During that time when i was starting it all over again, Sisi called when i was having dinner, so when i got back and started work, i called her just to see what she wanted. Also, Wendy called "just to say hi". Yes, just to say hi. So with both of them i had to cut it short, i didn't talk to Sisi for that long, and it was like a minute with Wendy.

Today

Due to the practice set, i had to stay up till about 5 am finishing it off. I actually finished the accounting stuff at 3, but in that book you need to do all the cheque forms and butts, tax invoices, and all the day-to-day transactions stuff, and since Thanda had written most of it in pen, it took me an extra 2 hours to finish it off. All in all, took me about 9 hours straight to finish it off. The only reason why it took 9 hours was that i had some of the answers, so yeah i copied some of them, but alot of the answers weren't right so yeah i had to do alot of it by myself. So when i finished, i was like:

"Well i could sleep for 2 hours, or i could stay up. If i go to sleep, i'll screw myself even more since i'll wake up more dead than what i feel now..."

So i decided just to have breakfast and just bum around really. That's the reason why this is called "Sleepless", since i haven't had any for about 41 hours straight, as i've said earler. To top it all off, today's my extremely long day where i'm on campus for 9 hours, with 7 hours contact. Great.

Off to accounting first thing to hand in that damned practice set. It's so depressing to know that i might have to do that as a profession. Well alright, maybe for like the first few years of work, but apart from that it's more boring than that. Hopefully, we don't have to do it manually. We shouldn't, but you never know with some stuff. So yeah handed it in and just sat there for the rest of the time. It really was a waste of going to the lecture, apart from handing the damn thing in, 'cause we didn't really learn anything, well we did, but it didn't need an hour for us to learn it. It's like she just tells us the theory, then we do some practical stuff, and that's it. That's a normal lecture which takes about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. This lecture took 1 1/2 hours. So damn boring.

Skipped tute so no more gay tutor basically ever and Geoff met with us at the lecture hall. Alan was kind enough to get some past papers for us to photocopy so yeah met with him as well and went photocopying, then lunch. With 3 hours, yet again we just went window shopping, and yeah Alan wasn't liking it. I mean none of us really like it, but yeah we're forced ( Sisi, Wendy, Kat, Sarah just to name a few) so we don't have much of a choice.

Nazi lecturer was as nazi as ever so yeah nothing new there. Monica and i talked like hell as per usual, and yet again we didn't learn anything in the lecture since we couldn't stop talking. So nothing new and yeah just hilarious about the stuff we talk about. Also informing each other of like a related past since there's a pretty damn strong connection between our schools. From people going out with people from each other's school and stuff like that. It's a pretty small world as i've said before, just that i found someone who knows a HELL of alot about the community i was part of. Everyone from that group, from what i last heard, doesn't really keep in contact with each other, and that's after i split from that group so yeah. Still, it makes good conversation so yeah.

Now doing some organising stuff as usual and just bumming. I will sleep soon. I'm pretty impressed that i've been through this and stuff, gives me training for what's to come later in the year. By the way, about my organising thing, friday and the weekend, you'll know officially what's going on. Thanks to Aron who has kinda stuffed it up, it was leaked alot earlier than i expected, and that was when i didn't have everything confirmed. So USYD people should have an idea what's going on. What's been passed around there isn't true anymore and on friday/this weekend, you'll know exactly what's going on.

Studying tomorrow and nothing much more. I mean my finals do start October 1, i think i do need to start. I should have started last weekend, but thanks to the damn practice set and the stat assignment, i didn't. So i've got ALOT to do...
