For those who did see me online, yeah i was pretty alright last night. I shouldn't have been with the assignment but yeah oh well can't do much now. Pretty stupid actually but yeah that's me...
I'm hoping that this new layout is easier to read. If you think or don't think so, go vote on the right. It gives me an indication so i know what to do next time, if there is a next time that is. But i just decided that it was time for a change in layout. I'm hoping everyone likes the bigger text.
I'm surprised i was actually movable today. I seriously was dead when i woke up. I felt like crap and i was in no mood to go over to uni. But somehow i managed to go over to uni.
For once the etiquette lecturer did not go on about anything at all. I'm serious. He did not go off topic at all today. People walked in late and still he didn't care. I'm quite impressed with that actually. On top of that, i'm surprised that i'm actually able to understand the stuff in the lectures as well. It's like i'm actually getting what the hell the lecturer's saying. It's pretty damn good :D But yeah still need to do alot of work before i can confidently say that i'm actually getting micro totally. Still, it's a start.
But yeah since Thanda and i had to hand in the assignment today and that we hadn't finished and there were just some questions that we couldn't get, we skipped the micro tute, even though Geoff and i bumped into the micro tutor on the way over to lunch. We were starving so yeah not my problem that we had to get stuff before we started finishing the assignment. So Kim, Thanda, Geoff and i walked over and had the usual pies. Nothing new there, but yeah not used to having lunch that early, even though we were starving.
Later, we found a free room to finish off the assignment. Thanda had to call someone 'cause there's this one question that no-one knew how to do at all and there was a second that was similar. It's something like "if you increase the mean by 10, what happens to standard dev?" and the other is "if you halve the mean, what happens to standard dev?" But thing is that was all the question was asking about. It was really ambiguous and just shite. So we spent most of our time doing that.
But there's this last bit where you have to go and type some stuff up on the comp, and also give graphical displays and stuff like that. So i was responsible for doing that and thing is after i finished that, i still wasn't sure so i needed Thanda to go check it for me just in case i didn't do anything wrong. Thing is i've run out of black ink and i haven't the time to get it either. So i didn't get it printed out and so i went into uni without a printed copy of the last question. So Thanda checks it and all, she says it's all good, and then we try to print. So we're telling it to print and all and it just doesn't print.
We're like "Er we need this to print since we've only got 1/2 an hour before it's due..." So there were some daemons there and they didn't have a clue to what was going on. Daemons are people who look after the network and make sure people don't stuff around with it, well that's close enough to what they do anyway. So they didn't have a clue and we're like "alright errrr...." Then the daemons/admins make an announcement that the printing is slow and so is the network. Everyone's like "Great...."
There's like 6 comp labs so we were in one next to our lecture room for stat, and so then we couldn't be bothered waiting at all so we went over to another lab. Yet again, it just happened to do the same thing...and off again to a 3rd lab, and same thing happens. What also happened was that when WE were there and tried to print, it'd stop. The printing would be fine UNTIL we got there. So i was like "hmmmmm..." Thanda checked the other 2 labs and their printers weren't working. There was 1 more lab, but it was being used by the stat class. Thankfully, our stat prac tutor was there and she let us in and thankfully it printed. Soon after, the admin guys had to reboot the system so yeah.
After all of that finished, we walked into the tute 1/2 an hour late. Finally got rid of that crap and Thanda calmed down alot. The whole time she was panicking and just saying all this random stuff and it looked like she was going to blow. But yeah she didn't and all good :D
I found out from my dad later that the problem with the network was that there's a virus that attacks important files, leaving your whole pc vulnerable, since it attacked my dad's workplace and they had to shut-down the whole network. His network had the same symptoms of what was happening at uni today, so yeah a virus attacked. Thing is it attacked today so yeah many people were affected, and that's the reason why i'm scanning my pc now just to make sure we're not infected. I've already taken the network offline so that if this pc is infected, it doesn't spread to our network. To check if you have this, go here and check. I'd recommend you to update your anti-virus program right now too, since it can do this kinda damage.
Made a few calls to Aron, Sarah, Elise, Katrina, Iris, and Phill to get some stuff organised and still trying to think of quite a few things to do too. Need to manage my time better now, and not just because of organising all of this stuff...
Hail Hitler lecturer tomorrow, along with the gay tutor. Not much else tomorrow.
I've been thinking about how i'm reasonably close to the end of the year. I mean it's been pretty damn long, but also i'm surprised how time has flown this year. There's been alot that i've dealt with, especially recently when i've started this blog. I mean sure i've had a bit before i started the blog, but yeah this semester has been pretty lively for me, in terms of surprises and also just the amount of work i have to do. I guess there's alot of things on my mind and yeah i need to deal with them through time. Of course a recent complication has taken quite alot of time and also has made me pretty unstable now, not saying i wasn't stable back then, but yeah at least then i knew that my mind was relatively alright. But yeah it's not anyone's fault but mine. I just hope that i can get through the rest of the year smoothly without anymore bumps along the road...
